The secret to a healthy, happy work place

A GREENER OFFICE, A STRONGER TEAM

Walk into an office (or any room for that matter,) filled with lush, healthy plants and you’ll notice something immediately: the space feels alive! There’s just a lighter, calmer, more inviting energy to a room full of greenery.  And to narrow it down to the workplace; plants play a humonguous role in employee well-being, productivity, and overall health and happiness. Let me explain.

The Positive Impact of Plants at Work

Research has consistently shown that incorporating plants into the workplace can reduce stress and increase overall job satisfaction. Greenery has a calming effect on the mind, helping employees feel more relaxed and focused throughout the day. In environments where deadlines and pressure are constant, even a small touch of nature can make a noticeable difference.

Plants can also improve air quality by absorbing pollutants and releasing oxygen, contributing to a healthier indoor environment. Some plants filter the air better than some sophisticated systems. The snake plant for example, has been known to even filter heavy toxins like formaldehyde and benzene out of the air!

Next to physical benefits, plants influence how people interact with a space. Offices with greenery often feel more welcoming and less sterile, and that fact alone boosts creativity and collaboration. Need I say more?

FROM STYLING TO SUSTAINING

However, simply placing plants around the office isn’t enough. Just like any living thing, they require attention, consistency, and the right conditions to thrive. Without proper care—adequate light, water, and occasional maintenance—plants can quickly deteriorate, becoming a symbol of neglect rather than vitality.

A dying plant in the corner sends a subtle message: something here isn’t being looked after. And that is not a good sign..

A REFLECTION OF WORKPLACE CULTURE

Caring for plants mirrors how organizations care for their people.

Just as overwatering or too little sunlight can harm a plant, mismanagement or lack of attention can affect employees tremendously. The goal is not just survival, but making them flourish.

Organizations that invest in both their physical space and their people often see the best results. When employees feel supported and valued, they’re more motivated, creative, and committed to their work. And that's where I come in!

SIMPLE STEPS TO A THRIVING GREEN OFFICE

Introducing plants into the workplace doesn’t need to be complicated. Start small: a few well-placed plants in common areas or on desks can already make a difference. Assign responsibility for their care or bring in professional plant services if needed (me!).

Because when companies are looking to take this to the next level, professional support can make all the difference. You can book Studio Wendel for the design, installation, and ongoing care of workplace greenery, ensuring that your plants—and your workspace—continue to thrive without adding extra pressure to your team. I would love to hear from you!

Green greetings,

A ll of a sudden your plants look really bad. They get crispy edges, have weird little marks on random places and just look really sad overall. You assume you forgot to water them. Or was it maybe too sunny? So you water them more, and maybe you even place them on a diffferent spot in your home (yikes!!). But it keeps getting worse, and now other plants begin to visibly struggle too. What is going on!? Read this blog for all tips, tricks and troubleshoots, and your plants will thrive again. But you have to act fast!

The Euphorbia Leuconeura, also known as the Madagascar Jewel, is my favorite plant. In German, it’s called a "Spuckpalme" (Spit Palm), because, as the name suggests, it shoots out its seeds into the air.
